What is the Church/Bible's views on vasectomies?

Children are a blessing from the Lord. The Church does not oppose the use of contraception if it is a completely safe non-abortifacients nor produces a hostile environment for a fertilized egg. On this premise, vasectomies are permitted, but because it is a surgical procedure, should the couple change their minds, reversal is more complicated. Thus, the spouses should research and discuss this option thoroughly and reach a mutual decision. It is selfish and unacceptable if the husband decides on his own to have this procedure without the knowledge and absolute consent of his wife. Therefore, they should already have children and decide together if this is the form of contraception they agree to use.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward" (Psalm 127:3).
